Join us as we discover the importance of finding your voice in speaking against racism in medicine by understanding the perspective of others\, knowing the cost of gender and racial discrimination\, and the importance of eliminating microaggressions and gender disparity in the workplace and in the medical community. \nCheryl Jean-Paul joined the Spartans as the women’s basketball head coach in 2010.\nSince coming to TWU\, Jean-Paul has built the Spartans program into a perennial playoff contender. Internationally\, Jean-Paul was most recently the head coach of Canada’s FIBA U16/U17 Cadette Women’s National Team from 2018-2022\, finishing as a top 4 at the U17 World Championships in Hungary. Jean-Paul\, who graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree\, also has her Chartered Professional Coach designation and has been recognized for her coaching abilities by being awarded the Canada West Coach of the Year in 2018. She has more recently completed her Advanced Coaching Diploma\, International Coaching Certificate with the CSI-Pacific and graduated with a Master’s in Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University.
